Tips for Success:
- Drain Beef Thoroughly: Draining the grease well helps prevent the pie from being oily.
- Keto Taco Seasoning & Salsa: Ensure your taco seasoning and salsa are sugar-free and low in carbs. Many conventional brands contain hidden sugars or starches.
- Cheese Choice: A good melting cheese blend works best for the topping.
- Green Onions: Don’t skip the green onions; they add a fresh, mild onion flavor.
- Doneness Check: The best way to check for doneness is to gently shake the pie plate; if the center is still very jiggly, it needs more time.
- Customization: Feel free to add a can of drained diced green chilies (if your salsa isn’t spicy enough), or a pinch of red pepper flakes to the meat mixture for a bit more heat.
